Hey there! Hi There! Ho There!
My name is Jonathan San German, but most of my friends call me Sanny(it's a nickname). I've come to this place because I, like everyone else here, love to make music and write songs. I understand that I'm a lot younger than a lot of the members of this community, but I find that to be a good thing because it gives me a different perspective and more insight on my music than my friends my age who tell me, "yeah, dude! That was sick!"( By all means, I don't want that last statement to come off as the whole "I was born in the generation" schtick, because that whole view is annoying as hell).

As for my music itself, I like to make music that lies under the genre of "Alternative rock". If we're talking specifics though, I love pop-punk, hardcore, indie, pop, and of course the good 'ol fashioned singer songwriter music. To sum up my lyrics and music in a nutshell: I'm a sad boy from the midwest who eats too much pizza, sucks at Super Smash Bros., and sings songs about an ex he should have got over a long time ago.

I hope that I can find the help and inspiration that I want here on this website!
Here's to a good time, Everyone! Hope we can all collab sometime!

Hi, Jonathan!

Welcome to the ramp.  We can all learn something from each other. Age is irrelevant (at least to me) .
Look forward to hearing your songs and lyrics.

Hi Sanny - Welcome to Songramp.  I think you'll find your stay here enjoyable. There are many talented writers and performers here who are usually more than happy to help a brother out in one way or another.  You'll find plenty of encouragement, guidance and more encouragement. I've found, like most things in life, you usually get out of something equal to what you put in so make yourself at home, be active on the forums, ask questions, post lyrics, listen to songs in the open mic, and make friends. I look forward to our interaction and listening to some of your music.
Cheers

Welcome Sanny. It's always nice to have some younger blood here. Regardless of whichever "genre" you might be into - it's all about creativity and self-expression - turning your thoughts and personality into your songs and sharing them with other like-minded folk. If you're just starting out as a songwriter - then you've come to the right place - there's plenty of artists here who will always listen and maybe offer advice and encouragement.
Nice to have you here!

Welcome to the Ramp, Sanny!  As you've read from the others here, it's a cool place, with even cooler people.  Kip said it best - you'll get out of it what you put into it.  Just like life.

Dive in - let us hear some of your stuff!

Jonathan,

Welcome to the Ramp; while it is true we are mostly a group of older writers/performers, we love having you younger folks join us and share their music; especially someone like you that has a good attitude and is open to learn from their elders. Ha!!!

Be aware also; the Ramp has a couple of Pro writers with Forums that all us writers can join in and ask any questions about the craft of writing; or the business side of music. I'm pretty active on the MAB (Marc Alan Barnette) Forum so I'd like to invite you to visit us over there.
1.  Click on "Forums" at the top of the page.  A window will open; scroll down to "Music Industry Insider" and click on that.
Another window will open with several threads, click on the Q&A Thread and hit the "last" on the page option.  That will take you to the last page of discussion where you can introduce yourself and hoping have a question for the MAB to answer.  He loves sharing his years of wisdom with all of us.  Please stop by and say "Hello".

The other Forum I mentioned is called "CreativeSongwriters" by Alex Forbes.  Alex  is also a recorded Writer/Artist with cuts to her credit.  I'm sure Alex would love to hear from you also.

Take care Brother and good luck with your writing.

OD
