Another day
Another dime
There’s better ways
To spend my time

A rat in the race
Need to get outta the cage
Time to make a change
Turn over a new page

No pager
No cellular phone
Want the world
To just leave me alone
Life is for livin
We work too damn hard
So I’m cashin’ in
My get out of jail free card

Too much of this world
Where I’ve never been
That’s why God made it
Seems not goin’s a sin

A nomad’s existence
That’s what I really crave
So I could say I’ve done it all
Before I go to my grave

No pager
No cellular phone
Want the world
To just leave me alone
Life is for livin
We work too damn hard
So I’m cashin’ in
My get out of jail free card

I know it’s not for everyone
But my heart longs to explore
No suit and tie to bind me
No name in gold letters on a door

No pager
No cellular phone
Want the world
To just leave me alone
Life is for livin
We work too damn hard
So I’m cashin’ in
My get out of jail free card

I dig your stuff, man.  Really resonates for me on this one.  Having spent time living abroad outside what I see as the rat race, pressure cooker, stress killer. Lol   I completely understand the perspective in the lyric.  Just want a simple life that in my view is becoming more difficult to achieve.  In an ideal world it would be nice.     : )

Very nice write

Good stuff, man. I really dig this. I like the message you're putting down. However, I'm not really sure how relevant talking about pagers and using the term "cellular phone" are. lol! Nonetheless, good song!

LOL!
Yeah, I thought the same thing when I was writing it, Jonathan, but it felt right so I just rolled with it.

Thanks for the kind feedback!
