I was walking at, the waters edge,

  • on the beach we use to go.
  • I started thinkin about, you again,
  • and feeling so alone.
  • Have they really gone,
  • all the years that we knew love.
  • I'm tryin hard to let go,
  • but I can't let go enough.
  • Cause I imagine you, standing there,
  • lookin right at me.
  • soft breeze blowin, through your hair,
  • feels so real, it can't be a dream.
  • I just can't believe it's over,
  • cause in my heart and,
  • mem-or-ries.
  • I imagine.....
  • your still here with me.
  • I found your old tshirt today,
  • in the back behind the drawer.
  • It still smells like your cologne,
  • you know, the one you always wore.
  • It reminded me, of the nite we met,
  • in that old cafe.
  • I swear, no ones ever looked at me,
  • or made me feel that way.
  • And I imagine you, standin there,
  • lookin right at me.
  • Cafe lights, shinin in your hair,
  • feels so real, it can't be a dream.
  • I just can't believe it's over,
  • cause in my heart and,
  • mem-or-ries,
  • I imagine.....
  • your still here with me.
  • Sometimes late at night,
  • I forget, your not comin home.
  • I turn out the lights,
  •  cause, in the dark, you feel so close.
  • I close my eyes, and I pretend,
  • it's still the way it use to be.
  • wrapped up in each others arms,
  • till we fall fast, asleep.
  • And I imagine you lyin there,
  • lookin right at me.
  • I run my fingers through your hair,
  • feels so real, it can't be a dream.
  • I just can't believe it's over,
  • cause in my heart and
  • mem-or-ries.
  • I imagine... Oh, I imagine.....
  • your still here with me.

This piece has a slight ring of narrative poetry in it.  Pleasant descriptive work.
