Piano, harp, guitar, bass, cello.
Really nice, I can imagine loads of different ways this could sound, and all of them are good. I adore this sort of concise lyricism.
Really liking the meaning behind these lyrics, it's a great mix of simplicity and deeper meaning if that makes any sense? The meter doesn't always work on the page, but I guess it might be easier to see what it's meant to sound like in your own head, haha
Definitely a powerful 'eff you, you aren't worth it' type of song - I love those. Nice work!
You Kill Me
How do you expect me to concentrate? I can't even think about you How you expect me to give you up? I can't ever quit this with you When do you expect me to finally tell you? You've gotta know by now When I'm near, do you hear my heartbeat? I've gotta make it quieter somehow Listen to me I'm being obvious But you're still oblivious Why won't you listen to me? I'm so obvious You're so oblivious You kill me Why do you think I'll be able to cope without you? You're the only reason I'm a little bit sane Why do you think I'm capable of staying away? Around you I can hardly be called sane Oh my God, oh my God, oh my love Listen to me I'm being obvious But you're still oblivious Can't you listen to me? I'm so obvious You're so oblivious You kill me Please just recognise what you're doing to me Please just recognise what we said Please just acknowledge The feelings I've made clear to you, and now You throw me to the ground Please just see what you've been doing to me Please just see the meaning of what I said Please just acknowledge The feelings I thought were obvious until now Throw them to the ground Just listen to me I'm being obvious But you're still oblivious Please listen to me I'm so obvious You're so damn oblivious You kill me.

Platonish
[I made up a word and wrote a song about it] How long will you remain my friend? How long will it take you to recognise? I'm glad that you are my friend I just wish you'd recognise We talked about this before I don't understand how you don't know I guess I've never cared before But I still don't get how you don't know Dancing around each other While I'm dancing with my lover But we know it's not a sin What an interesting mess I'm in How can I explain this to you? My love that crosses borders Will I ever manage to tell you? Cos my love, it crosses borders Dancing around each other While I'm dancing with my lover But we know it's not a sin What an interesting mess I'm in Platonic, ish Gone up a level, I hope it's equal Platonic, ish Past one thing but before another Friendly kiss Gone up a level, I wish it was equal Platonish Something between a friend and a lover I think you can break my fall Cos this is something unconditional Even when you're blue and I'm beyond the green You look past to more than what can usually be seen On the surface Even though this friendship is like my dream You can make me feel like I'm a part of reality This doesn't mean less Platonic, ish Gone up a level, I hope it's equal Platonic, ish Past one thing but before another Friendly kiss Gone up a level, God I wish it was equal Platonish Something between a friend and a lover How long will it take you to recognise? We're platonic, ish Moving our way across these borders Tectonic, moronic Even though you're blue and I remain green Platonish You'll always be the rogue red one to me.

Deeper
A love deeper than my scars A love darker than the red A love thicker than the stitches A love to hep me rest my head A sky deeper than the ocean A night darker than the rest Our love is all the stitches Now it's time to go to bed A pain colder than the surface A fire burning deep inside *A way to make me feel better* A way to stop me trying to hide From the light But I don't care I don't want to hurt you Like I hurt myself Deeper than your eyes NOTES: the entire thing is repeated three times 1st time = acoustic guitar 2nd time = rock + angry 3rd time = piano + sad *this line becomes: 2nd time: 'A way to pretend that I'm better' 3rd time: 'A way to tell me I'll get better'

Dean
[for Dean Winchester from Supernatural - shut up I love that show ok] Dean, don't think you have to Live up to those expectations The standards left by those before you Dean, don't do it if you don't want to Accept your independence, boy We can stand up for you But don't think That we're calling you weak We understand your strength You don't have to put it to the test Dean, remember that you're loved Hey you could try to love yourself But we won't make you Dean, remember that I'm always here No matter what you are We'll always love you And don't think We're calling you weak We understand your strength You don't have to put it to the test Dean, don't let your father weigh you down Don't always play the clown To hide your alcohol frown Oh Dean, you don't always have to fight Your brother's okay tonight An angel will show you the light Dean, don't think that you have to Protect everything around you Sometimes you've gotta protect yourself But there isn't always a reason Come on, it's not hunting season Put the knife back on the shelf Dean, don't let your father weigh your down Don't always play the clown To hide your alcohol frown Oh Dean, you don't always have to fight Your brother's okay tonight An angel will show you the light You might have a warrior's soul But you're bright and beautiful And you know what Dean, you're whole Sure there's demons on your back But you need time to relax One day you won't need revenge One day you'll see your mother again And don't think That we're calling you weak Cos we understand your strength You don't need to put it to the test Dean, don't let your father weigh you down Don't always play the clown To hide your alcohol frown Oh Dean, you don't always have to fight Your brother's okay tonight That angel will show you the light Dean, don't let your demons bring you down Stop playing the clown To hide your alcohol frown Dean, you won't always have to fight Your brother's okay tonight Your angel will show you the light Dean, your angel will show you the light.

Apologise
[I'm British, this is how we spell apologise, deal with it] I apologise But I'm the only one who knows quite what I've Done And I'm the only one who sees what I've Become I apologise For all the words I pulled out of your Mouth And all the secrets I forced you to spill Out Never again Oh, I apologise For every single moment I've acted a bit Cold And for every idiot fucking little lie I've Told Well I promise not to hurt you But I can't promise to love you any more But I still do Cos you're standing there With your dark-dyed hair How could I resist? The pull of my heart When everything's so dark And I can't accept the answer but I still Ask the question Well I'm sorry I ever tried to ask you for Advice Or when I tried to hold you in my arms I shake I'm sorry For breaking the most expensive and fragile Things Like my mind and my heart and my soul and I cannot Begin Oh I'm sorry For ruining my emotions and your Life It's all that I can do To stop myself from killing you Unsure why, but I I still do Cos you're standing there With your dark-dyed hair How could I resist? The pull of my heart When everything's so dark And I can't accept the answer but I still Ask the question Oh I apologise for ever being born And I apologise for growing up into such an awful mess I will apologise for turning into myself I apologise For falling In love With you and my hatred I apologise For being alive I apologise.
Angel
[this is basically based on the TV show Supernatural, it's kinda dumb but I like how it sounds when I sing it] Angel Stop looking at me You're supposed to be clean Angel Stop fighting for me Your wings should be clean Angels aren't supposed to follow The words of mortal men Angel Stop watching me Angel Stop making me like you You've acted so cruel Angel Stop making me need you I don't know what to do Angels don't really seem to listen To the prayers of mortal men So angel Why do you? Angel Stop watching me Angel Why do I care? God's soldiers aren't meant to feel For the struggles of mortal men Angel What do I do? Making my faith up As we go along Angel Stop guarding me Your blade should stay clean Angel Don't protect me Your Grace needs to be clean Angels aren't supposed to love The souls of mortal men I don't believe you Angel Please don't stop watching me.
