Michael Prather songs
I was going to redo this one but my voice isn't up to it due to allergies .. ugh !! .. The lyric is updated on the page ..
I went ahead and posted it because a good friend threatened to "pull my ears off" if I didn't and I wear glasses so .. without them I'd be screwed !!!
This is just a rough idea of how I want it to go :)
Thanks for listening !!!

Whiskey Brown
Mike Prather
She was sittin on a bench when I pulled in
cutoff shirt and shorts and nothin else but skin
drinking from a cup one hundred proof on the side
Ice between her lips and fire in her eyes
She looked at me, ran her eyes up and down
and in the shape of a kiss through blood red lips
She said my name is Whiskey , Whiskey Brown
It was a hot day in January more like the 4th of July
She took me back to her place for a drink
My mind was turned inside out
it had never felt like this
I left that town in the dark of the night
with a taste of Whiskey
Whiskey... on my lips ....
Well I headed north away from her
seemed the further I got the colder it turned
Began to snow just across that county line
I pulled into a Motel, oh but I couldn't sleep
Them moving hips, those ruby lips
All night I thought of Whiskey, Whiskey Brown
It was a hot day in January more like the 4th of July
She took me back to her place for a drink
My mind was turned inside out
it had never felt like this
I left that town in the dark of the night
with a taste of Whiskey
Whiskey... on my lips ....
That memory stayed clear in my mind
I couldn't let go of what I left behind
So I made my way back to where we first met
But where that town should have showed
was just a marker beside the road
It said this is in memory of those who died
in the fire that took this town in 1975
Now I'm sitting in this bar drinking round after round
The bartender says boy you better slow down
I said just keep 'em coming I ain't had enough yet
you see I'm drinking to remember
... not to forget
Oh I still remember
It was a hot day in January more like the 4th of July
She took me back to her place for a drink
My mind was turned inside out
it had never felt like this
I left that town in the dark of the night
with a taste of Whiskey
Whiskey... on my lips ....
Oh I still taste Whiskey
Whiskey ... on my lips ...
