Most of these songs in this album, unless noted otherwise, were written by myself and my co-writer Dave Younger who is providing vocals for each. These song demos were recorded and produced at the Smokehouse Studio in Nashville.
Superman in Overalls Written by David Younger & Farnell Cole Can't say I remember my first pair of overalls I was small though the record shows Old faded picture from my Mama's Polaroid There's a boy trying to look grown I'm lookin' up at Daddy who was dressed the same as me I barely reach his waistline it was very plain to see Why I thought he was a giant he was Superman to me Superman in overalls I'd play at my Daddy’s feet out in his old work shed At times he’d stop just to play with me I'd look up in worship from that sawdust covered floor I saw the man I one day hoped to be Superhuman patience working with his mighty hands Why he did not wear a cape I could not understand He could fix most anything he was Superman to me Superman in Overalls Other super heroes dressed in tights and masks and such My one and only hero never went for fancy stuff When he pulled on his overalls I always went for mine Our world became a better place One job at a time I look just like my Daddy did in that picture long ago I am grown with a family of my own Kryptonite took Superman I miss him every day His shop is still and his tools are put away I hold on to his memory and I try to pass it down To the family God has given me Daddy did not live to know But when I'm with my little sidekicks he is here among us all Superman in overalls Superman in overalls Superman in Overalls Written by David Younger & Farnell Cole 10/04/2012 All rights reserved © (BMI)
