Day After Day
(c)2015 Steve Oxford/Diane Gee-Frasca
Verse 1
A single leaf blows across the lawn
torn from the tree it was hanging on
it seems lost and searching for home
yet the wind keeps moving it along
CHORUS
there is no complaining
the journey goes on naturally
when the wind dies down
it's waiting patiently
imagining all the sights along the way
learning the law of the land day after day
Verse 2
Sometimes I have felt misplaced
like my heart is one of those stow aways
for a moment I find my space
then suddenly I get carried away
CHORUS (above)
Instrumental
Bridge
Birds fly between the north and south
people move around before they settle down
does anybody really settle down?
Verse 3
There are highs and lows and somewhere in the middle
there is excessiveness and needing very little
a single leaf blows across the lawn
the wind keep moving it along... moving it along...
