A few of my songwriting efforts - Acoustic, Country, Singer-songwriter, Blues, and Jazz styles are my main influences. I'm often not sure what category the things I write might fall into.
Inspired by Philippians 3:13-14
In my dreams, sung by Tracy Byrd (but sung and played here by me :))
-------------
Too many miles behind me now
Too many years have gone by
I don’t remember everywhere I’ve been
Don’t think I even want to try
cause what’s past is past
what’s done is done
I’ve got no time to dwell on that
I think about what’s to come
the one thing I do
If I don’t do nothing else
I forget everything behind me now and I press on
to what lies ahead
I’ve stood on top of the mountain
And I’ve fell down the other side
I know the taste of sweet victory
And I’ve hung my head and cried
But what’s past is past
What’s done is done
I got no time to dwell on that
I’m thinking about what’s to come
and one thing I do
If I don’t do nothing else
I forget everything that lies behind
And I press on
to what lies ahead
The battle still rages
And my race is not yet run
I keep my eye on the final prize
I keep my feet on the run
and one thing I do
If I don’t do nothing else
I forget everything that lies behind
and I press on
to what lies ahead
I forget everything behind me now
and I move on
to what lies ahead
