Another day, another airport
Another delayed Delta flight
I was suddenly reminded
Bein’ free comes at a price
They were walkin’ up the concourse
In a group, about to board
Ten young soldiers in their uniforms
Headin’ off to war
It made me stand a little taller
Filled me up with pride
I got that feelin that I always get
When I see Old Glory fly
I pulled my stomach in and my shoulders back
I shook each and every hand
I thanked each one for their service
To this nation, for which they stand
We spoke for just a moment
They said I’d made their day
Then they boarded without fanfare
And went along their way
These fine young men and women
Said they were proud to serve
Now it’s up to us, America
To give them what they deserve
It’ll make you stand a little taller
Fill you up with pride
You’ll get that feelin’ that you always get
When you see Old Glory fly
Pull your stomach in and your shoulders back
Shake each and every hand
Thank each one for their service
To this nation, for which they stand
Your opinions and your politics
Don’t matter much at all
You are only free to have them
Thanks to those who heed the call
So stand a little taller
Filled yourself with pride
Get that feelin that Americans get
When they see Old Glory fly
