I used to curse the rain

Yeah it always brought me down

But now that sun is just bringing me down

Hanging around

I just doesn't seem right

Feeling blue on a sunny day



See my momma told me

She said now look here son

The blues aren't just for rainy days

And they fall on everyone

The sun can shine on down

And you can still be blue on a sunny day



I see children playing

They're just  having fun

Without a worry in the world

My heart is heavy

There's something in my eye

All I hear is that sad whistle

When that train is rolling on by

One thing I've learned

Some things never change

Life can bring happiness

But it sure can bring some pain

The sun can shine on down now

Like it ought to do

The sun can shine on down

On me and you

The sun can hang on around

And I can be blue on a sunny day
