There was a thunder clap
I heard a loud slap
as she was walking away from bar.
She looked me in the eye
said “buddy can you drive.
I need a man to gonna go ( too) far..”

Its called Thunder bolt blues
when you’ve got everything to lose
and opportunity drops right there in your lap
It becomes red hot news
and you really have to choose
just where you gonna lay your tracks.
v
I wasnt out looking
I wasnt out hunting
I was the target of random chance
In a bar of mainly men
I was going home by ten
I wasnt thinking about romance.
and there she was...(spoken)
She had big hair,
a meaningful stare
as she stalked up in her tight blue jeans
I got all hot
and like or not
I was living out one of my dreams
ch
Its called Thunder bolt blues
when you’ve got everything to lose
and opportunity drops right there in your lap
It gives you the blues
And turns up the screws
and maybe stop right there in your tracks
But when her eyes met mine I ran out of time
Now I think of her now and then
And every time it thunders
I wonder if Ill ever get to see her again
