Bill Osofsky songs
Barry doesn't know it, but I wrote this lyric 30 years ago. I consider it timeless rather than old :) It was the first song I tried to have done with my first internet collaborator from the NSAI site about 6 years ago. It was a dismal failure. When I started writing with Barry I thought he would be perfect for it. Something with a folky feel. And I'm trilled with how he handled it.
YESTERDAY'S MAIL
(chorus)
Faded recollections of a time gone by
Paragraphs that tell a lover's tale
Yesterday's hopes
Yesterday's promises
There to read in yesterday's mail
(verse)
Reliving now
Us walking in the park one winter's day
Forgiving how
You washed my face with snow and ran away
There within your drawer
The words I'd written long before
And I can't believe it all began that way.
(repeat chorus)
(verse)
Remembering
Those days in which my world was only you
Ten years ago
A crowd was any number more than two
And never really knowing
Which way your life was going
When you dreamt of what the future held for you
(bridge)
Loosening those letters from that white satin bow
Made a million memories begin to flow, into
(repeat chorus)
