SOUPS ON

though the world is a big bubble
full of trouble and struggles
from argentina to oslo
there's is a cure all grandma's know
and that would be soup
it could be chicken, potato or lobster bisque
but at the risk, of finding out what
makes the world tick
I say let's make a world soup
start with boiling water
now that's universal
don't need a dress rehearsal
take beans from Mexico
potatoes from Idaho
onions from Spain
and carrotts from
where it never rains
arugula from France
peas that like to dance
on boiling water
ripe tomatoes
from the farmers daughter
cayenne spice
salt and pepper
rosemary
and pasta
from Italy
a pinch of vodka
from Russia
add some chicken
and some corn
and soon a soup will be born
get a big porcelan bowl
from China
a billion stainless steel British spoons
and everyone
all at once
dig in
cause when soup is on
all the world's troubles
will soon be gone
