Baiting The Hook
I asked a friend what his secret was
if he could tell me why he was lucky in love
and this is what he said
you have to bait the hook with glazed moonbeams,
and spice it up with merry-go-round dreams
so I thought for awhile, and came up with a plan
to become the man of sweet Lorraine
the girl behind the window pane, at the local theater
she had long reddish blond hair, and eyes
that could leave a soul, lost in prayer
I said Lorraine, I need to apologize
what I did just ain't right
she said, what are you talking about you silly boy
I said in my dream last night
we were under the moon of midnight blue
when I took advantage of you
she looked all at once shocked and amazed
why are you telling this to me
I said though our time together wasn't filthy
I still felt, well you know, so guilty
that maybe I used you, as we were never properly introduced
she said well maybe that's something that can be corrected
hello my name is Lorraine, it's a pleasure to meet you
I smiled and simply said me too, and as you may have guessed
it wasn't long before we were inter connected
it wasn't long before she said yes
I said Lorraine, I need to apologize
what I did just ain't right
she said, what are you talking about you silly boy
I said in my dream last night
we were under the moon of midnight blue
when I took advantage of you
you have to bait the hook with glazed moonbeams,
and spice it up with merry-go-round dreams
you have to bait the hook with glazed moonbeams,
and spice it up with merry-go-round dreams
