Rob and Anna were watching one of those
before your day begins programs at 4:30 in the morning
when the station broke away from programming
with breaking news, Three babies were abducted
at gun point at the local hospital. Rob and Anna
quickly dressed, while the reporter said it was triplets
from a Mr Jefferson, and a Mrs. Wong. Three identical
daughters suddenly orphaned.
When Rob and Anna arrived the scene, there was
mass hysteria and bewilderment. Three armed men
wearing masks, gemanded and left the premises, with
Mr Jefferson and Mrs. Wong's baby girls. The parents of
Rachael, Wendy, and Paula, were sobbing, but still
managing to answer questions. So you know of anybody
who would do this to you? A jealous family member,
a coworker? Do you have any enemies. All answered
with a weeping no, no, no.
Anna was blindly starring into space, when Rob asked
is anything wrong, Anna replied, Ron this is where all
three of our children were born, could you imagine
if something like this had happened to either one of them
Rob said I can, and no I can't it's just unimagineable.
Anna said you know Rob, they're going to hand this case
over to the missing persons department, and more than
likely we'll be left out of the loop, the old you do your
business and I'll do mine mentality. I know said Rob,
but there's nothing to stop us from doing research on our
own time. Anna laughed, sometimes I think you
know me too well.
Rob and Anna went to the police academy library,
and took out every book they could find on baby abductions
Mostly what they found was that baby brokers, abduct
babies based on race, religion etc., for clients who want
to adopt a certain type of baby. These clients are usually
wealthy couples wh can't have children of their own, and for
an inflated price, they get to forego the long adoption process,
which can sometimes take many months, even years,
Rob and Anna searched the databases for known offenders
in the baby brokerage business.
They came up with a short list of names, and one of them
a Michael Daulton, though not convicted, drew the
ire of the judge, by flaunting his wealth in the way of ten
diamond rings and assorted gold chains. Rob and Anna
wondered how Mr. Daulton came into that kind of cash?
Rob and Anna asked James Hallworth, a good friend
and a retired detective, if he could put a tail on Mr. Daulton?
James said glady, I'm on it, some of these creeps, can't be
rehabilated, I'll bet dollars to doughnuts that he is involved
in the abduction of the baby triplets. James followed Michael,
and immediately noticed that Michael flashed a lot of cash
for somebody, who had just gotten out of jail.
Michael stayed at a posh upper east side hotel, dined at
five star restaurants, and wore top of the rack suits.
One night instead of going home to the hotel,
Michael went to a lower west side abandoned warehouse
James suspected something was up, so he called Rob
and Anna and told them to come down to the river
basin warehouse, on west 14th st. Rob and Anna
took their children to Anna's mothers house, which
was along the way, the kids yawningly complained,
but they had seen this mobie before and went along
quietly. Rob and Anna met up with James, and they
decided, with babies involved to be the least confrontational
as possible. To that end, they waited for Michael to leave,
they could always catch up to him later, but first they
had to find out what was going on inside that Warehouse.
They patiently waited two hours before Michael left the premises
they watched as he got into his car and left the premises,
before they went into to investigate. They were
altogether amazed, this shabby looking abandoned warehouse
had been turned into a palace, marble fllors, spiralled staircases
and luxurious rooms, each filled with children, ranging from
newborn to fifteen year olds, who were being taken care of
by high priced nannies. The strangeness the enormity of it all
overcame James, Michael, and Anna. Shaking their heads, they
asked what in the world is going on here. One of the nannies,
volunteered, you're going to find this hard to believe, but every
child here, came in as newborns. What said Anna, what are you
trying to tell us. The nanny continued, we call this place, muts
on parade, that's right every child you see is a mixed breed.
There's a huge market in the sex slave trade, for kids with
mixerd blood, it's hard to explain, but it makes them more
desireable, when they exhibit the sensual traits of different
cultures. Anna looked at Rob and said, this is incredible, how
long has this been going on? The Nanny answered, for more
years than you care to imagine. But said Anna, all taken as
infants, and all this decadence, there has got to be some
huge amount of money backing this operation, more than
Michael Daulton could possibly have. You're wrong said the
nanny, this started off as one time thing for Michael Daulton,
and slowly snowballed. His clientel are fortune five hunfered
executives, it all comes down to a lot of money, for cheap thrills,
in the mansions, and the yachts.
Rob and Anna had a hard time believing, a low life like
Michael Daulton, would have so much guile, but they had already
overstepped their bounds, and would leave the rest of
this investigation, up to the FBI.
But there was one thing Rob and Anna weren't about to miss
the reuniting of the the baby triplets, with Mr Jeffeson and Mrs.
Wong, and what a celebration of laughter, smiles, sighs,
and a fewgoo goo ga ga's thrown in for good measure.
Five ordinary slobs, on a not so ordinary day....
