Some time ago I sent Hans a rather rambling poem that I wrote several years ago. To my delight he has adapted it and turned it into this unusual Christmas song. Thank you Hans for a wonderful performance!

Are You Sorry That You Came?
What made you think that You could reach
The hearts of men with words of peace?
That You could teach a mind so base
The duty of humility
And timeless beauty of Your grace
Was it worth Your sacrifice?
Do You count the cost of life
The cruel atrocities committed in your name?
If You don’t mind me asking
Are You sorry that You came?
Can You take the weight of acts of hate?
Or did you finally lose your faith
In people who seek only power and gain
Does it fill you with aversion?
That they seek it in your name?
Were You wrong to bless the meek?
They're still hungry, they're still weak
Althoug they’re alive, they will never grow old
Does it fill you with frustration?
When they’re left out in the cold
Do You wish Your treasure had stayed hidden?
Did You give too much in letting it be known?
D'You still believe that man can be forgiven
Or will You leave him harvesting
The evil he has sown?
Instr;
Christmastime has come again
A time of joy, well that’s the plan
Ever since You’ve been gone, nothing’s changed
Some of us still wonder
Are You sorry that you came?
