This volume contains all my song collabs from the archive Songramp site, up until July 2014
Music by Tee Cee (Tony Charnock)
Vocals by rittman and Beeswing
Originally posted a few years ago.....
This really needs my vocal re-doing (with more expression) - but in honour of rittman's AOM award I am posting it as is!
This was written about 4 years ago one lazy Sunday afternoon. ritt posted the first verse in a thread on Just Plain Folks, I responded with the second verse, he came back with the third etc, etc. This unfolded over most of the day, with interested folks coming back to read the next instalment and make comments! It was good fun, and it means a lot to both of us - it cemented our friendship!
Tony provided the musical accompaniment - not an easy task! - and recorded my vocal, and mixed the whole thing together - thank you Tony!
Congratulations ritt, my very dear friend!
Two Dreamers
Ritt
she was the girl with no name
she lived far off in the distance
everyday right around noon
you could see if only for an instance
a bouncing billy goat and she
outlining the mid-day moon
from a field of lilies and daffodils
I wondered if they ever noticed me
Bee
Sometimes when I'm out walking
Most often happens round midday
I hear a kind of drawlin talkin
Faintly like it's far away
It floats on the breeze, teasing the poppies
And making them sway
And Billy strokes his pointy beard
The way he does when he can't figure it
And says to me, "what's that I hear?"
And I say "Billy, don't act the goat
You know it's only Ritt!"
Ritt
then one day while i was humming a mindless melody
the kind infants are fond of
i saw the billy prick his ears
with it's head gently give the girl a rub
yes you silly goat i can hear
it's the song of the soft and wild plains
in a picture book, a book of pictures
a boy and his vivid dreams
a girl and her billy prancing
forever implanted between the seams
dancing figurines, animated fixtures
Bee
Enchanting pictures, dancing tambourines
Entrancing and igniting the trail of white moonbeams
Lighting up the milky way
With silky secret soulful sounds of oh so far away
The girl, a whirling dervish
Turning round and around
And around and around
And around
And the drums pound
And the tambourines jingle their joy-telling bells
Sonorific symbols in a symphonetic swell
And all is thunderfully wonderously well
Ritt
our slice of earth, spinning, lifting
beyond the retinal scope of pain
into unknown space handsomely drifting
yet more is awarded than greets the eye
a fingertip universe, opportunities limitless
so many directions without an end
the spirit flies
the spirit soars
and what's more, what's even more
amidst all the voices
amidst all the choices
i have found
a life long friend
Bee
the spirit soars
the spirit flies
the muse has blessed
with feeling eyes
two dreamers
in a stream of coinciding consciousness
gliding on a friendship
sailing through the sea of rhyme
until the end of time
