Instead of doing something creative this afternoon--I did this instead---a Sunday screw off song--kind of about growing up and liking all types of music and still discovering new music I like everyday--full of mistakes (the bass is too loud--the singer sucks--drums suck-- guitars suck) but hey...It is a screw off song. :) I didn't know what the TITLE should be so I called it....
ANOTHER DAMN GOOD BAND????
by....Clark Mortensen
I remember back when I was small
Momma singing to us all
the music playing soft and slow
really got into my soul
we listened to Jim Reeves a lot
and also Patsy Cline
Hank Williams was a regular
Along with Red Sovine
Lorreta Lynn she sang so sweet
And Elvis rocked the house
we wore out that old Phonograph
while singing on the couch
music is just a part of me
takes my soul and sets it free
wherever I may choose to go
gotta have my radio
so I can hear the Eagles play and also CCR
Three Dog Night and Jimmy Page
and don't forget the Doors
Jethro Tull caught my ears
then I heard ol' Skynyrds' team
The music scene was really hot
when I was just a teen
break
Steppenwolf was right as rain
Firefalls stuck in my brain
Pure Prairie League came on the scene
Now I'm leaning back towards country
cause I really like DRB can't beat Alabam'
Dan Tyminski knows his stuff
Alan Jacksons still the man
Charlie Daniels steals the show
Willie Nelson rules the land
when I think I've heard it all
here comes the Zac Brown Band
when I think I've heard it all
here comes the Zac Brown Band
and when I think I've heard it all
here comes........another Damn good band
another Damn good band
