I am a young man
heading off to war

do I fight for glory
do I fight for greed
do I fight for freedom
from all who would impede

I'll gladly give my life to keep my country free
but not for money, or any persons greed
I'll fight for liberty, or to keep my family safe
I'll wipe out tyranny, when it shows it's ugly face

now i'm an old man
in another war
and I still don't know
just what I'm fighting for

do I fight for (prophets-profits) take your pick
do I fight for peace
do I fight for all the things
humanity needs
