Ron Madore songs
I haven't seen Alex Stangl (songramp member) in sometime and I was going thru some older songwrites and this is one of them. Alex had added some guitar work to this piece. An excellent job I might add! Lyrics by Mark Price. I hope yall don't mind the repost...Alex's work is definitly worth the listen. Thank you Alex!! I've added some touch-ups to vocals. The string into was cut out on the album. I left it here on this post as it was originally recorded. "The Tear" (c)2004 R. Madore / M. Price Piano, vocals: Ron Madore Lyric: M. Price Guitars: Alex Stangl My Granddad was to me A brave and strong man I've never seen him cry But there were times if you looked close enough A tear was in his eye Misbehavin' While growin' up I said, Granddaddys can't spank But as he reached down, Corrected me I saw a tear in his eye (chorus) I could still see him there Standin' at the back porch door Smiling as he waved goodbye Tried to be strong So I wouldn't see The tear that was in his eye I grew older and moved away Time spent with him Meant so much more When it came to go sayin' goodbye was so hard His hand on my shoulder I'd pretend that I couldn't see The tear that was in his eye (chorus) I could still see him there Standin' at the back porch door Smiling as he waved goodbye Tryin' to be strong So I wouldn't see The tear that was in his eye (Bridge) And when the day came One last goodbye While I stood there And held his hand I looked upon His tired worn face And a tear was in his eye (chorus) I could still see him there Standin' at the back porch door Smiling as he waved goodbye Tryin' to be strong So I wouldn't see The tear that was in his eye I could still see him
