Robert Frost  wasn't the only person to ever look back upon "The Road Not Taken."  We all think back to forks and crossroads and ask, "What if?"  I did some rearranging of the lyrics below, but they're all in there somewhere.

       THE ROAD NOT TAKEN

The road was straight, from there to here;
We held no hate, we felt no fear.
The hand of fate had made it clear:
Don?t hesitate, be of good cheer.

We both stopped time, and held our breaths ?
No secret sign, no shibboleths.
Your heart and mine, joined until death.
In pantomime, we both were blessed.

Don?t go mistakin?
The road not taken
For that yellow brick road.
You?ll find heartache ?n
Happiness waitin?
Any way that you go.

The dark years pass, they leave us gray;
They come so fast, then crawl away.
Nothing can last, it all decays.
The die is cast, numbers our days.

A crooked trail lies before us;
A tragic tale, a Greek chorus.
It?s like a jail in this forest.
They teach us Braille, then ignore us.
