On Down the Ouachita

Sittin? on a river bank
In the middle of October
It brings back memories
Of my childhood days
When I use to walk behind the house
Down toward the river bottoms 
I?d leave early in the morning
And I would spend all day

I would walk along side of that old river
Lose my cares and worries at her shore
Dream of what the future holds beside her
As I listen to the current?s gentle roar
And watch the water flow 
On down the Ouachita

Feel the cool wind blowin?
It?s wrapped around my shoulders
Smell the fragrance of the willows
Mixed with that muddy water air
The sunlight?s dancin? like diamonds off the water
Just me and nature what a perfect love affair
