Sarah and I wrote this song for a friend that had fallen on hard times but is now in recovery and on a new path.I believe many can relate to the song for a variety of reasons... Anne came in and smoothed out my rough edges as usual, with her dreamy sweet harmonies..I thought it more a piano song than guitar so we asked Dave nicely to join us and he nicely accepted..;)Anne gets kudos for her technical skills and final mix..and the sheer fact that both of them stayed with me so tightly when I didn't use a click track still amazes me..;)--ts

I Found Myself
Music by Timothy Scott, Lyrics by Sarah Scott & T.S.
1) Like a cliché in your favorite song
Never wanted to miss out on all the fun
Made up my life as it came along
Didn’t walk after I learned how to run
2) Riding shot gun, no one at the wheel
And no way that I could put on the brakes
Mind was so numb, nothing seemed real
I was leaving my whole future to fate
Chorus:
I found myself when I lost everything else
Made my amends and tried how forgiveness felt
Who would you be if you could begin again?
Rewrite your story and change how it can end
Bridge:
Spent all my time chasing highs
Reaching new lows just to get by
Seemed no one was ever on my side
For me the rules did not apply
3) Needed to breathe, find a new home
Said goodbyes with relief and regret
Chose to believe I’m not alone
A feeling I don’t want to forget
4) On my right path, not sure where it leads
But I have hope and I know I have friends
I’m looking past just my own needs
Seeing new roads instead of deadends
