I haven't posted in a long while...maybe thought the Muse had left me...but last month or so after a coupla mini-vacations we came up with some new stuff...this particular song was conceived on the screened-in porch of a cabin in Brevard ,N.C....I was getting a kinda High Lonesome feeling on melody and Sarah thought up a situation where a guy left a girl, but not really in proximity but in lack of mood/feelings of love(which is pretty mod since they STILL live together,he just checked out some time ago)..I used my 6-string ukulele here..and by the way if u ever go to Brevard look for the cool as Hell white squirrels and feed them popcorn behind the college..;)~ts
She Waits
Music by Timothy Scott
Lyrics by Sarah Geis & Timothy Scott
V1) She remembers a time when they smiled
And their love felt as new as a child
When they suffered if they were apart
She could finish each sentence he’d start
But she cannot remember the day
His love started fading away
When they stopped kissing under full moons
And silence filled all of their rooms
Chorus:
The dreams that they once shared were lost long ago
A memory…a moment…are all that she knows
It seems like forever since he looked in her eyes
She’s watching…wanting…she’s made this her life
She waits for his love every night
V2) She sits on the porch swing, alone
Not sure if he is coming home
She keeps searching the skies for a sign
To point them towards happier times
She tries telling herself it’s okay
That neither of them is to blame
And there’s no point in starting again
It would turn out the same in the end
Chorus:
The dreams that they once shared were lost long ago
A memory…a moment…are all that she knows
It seems like forever since he looked in her eyes
She’s watching…wanting…she’s made this her life
She waits for his love every night
She waits for his love to return every night
She still waits for his love every night
repeat Chorus
