Inspiration to this song came from the website www.osho.com
I sometimes go there and click on a tarrrot card of the day.
The lesson that day was: Be like a tortoise.
It took me weeks to find a melody for the lyric, but vupti
it just came out of the blue sky.
Now I am not a singer, so if someone out there feels like singing
it for me, don't hold it back - Just contact me.

About a hundred years ago
My mother she left me,
Naked alone in the sand
She stumbled down the water's edge
and vanished in the sea
She never came back for me
I was found by a fisherman
He wrapped me in paper
And carried me to his house
He raised me like a sailor’s son
That's the way it all began
In the start of World War one
'Course I'm a tortoise
I carry my home with me wherever I go
No need to seek shelter elsewhere
I'm a tortoise
I savor my turtle life by slowing down
Because I'm already at home
I'm already there
I've been on dry ground too long
mother nature is calling
A female is what I need
I’m gonna find me a deep blue sea
Then I’ll swim out till I find
Another tortoise of my kind
Now if you see some eggs in the sand
You better leave them be
Let nature take its course
Or you'll stand with a tortoise on your hand
And we don't need no birth control
Just listen to a sheltered soul
'Course I'm a tortoise
I carry my home with me wherever I go
No need to seek shelter elsewhere
I'm a tortoise I savor my turtle life by slowing down
Because I'm already at home
I'm already there...
