Been writing love songs lately and needed to post some. But, I couldn't figure out what this is... kind of a bluegrass beat, zydeco-like accordian, country-ish words, acoustic, americana...? I'm lost. As always, just me. Playing, singing, and struggling to communicate. I went for a loose, (hopefully) fun feel. A celebration of love, if you will. Hope it's contageous.
Three Simple Words
Day after day
He works his fingers to the bone.
Five o’clock rolls around
And he goes home alone.
Cold dinner in front of the TV
By himself.
He’s an empty, young jar
On a dusty, old shelf.
But, three simple words
Could change his life.
Three simple words
Could make the darkness light.
Three simple words
Can turn the black to white.
Three simple words
Can help you through the night.
I love you.
In this big, bad wolf of a world,
Each of us is running scared.
We’re all looking for that
Special someone that really cares.
For you it was me,
And for me it was you.
Just say those three simple words.
So simple and true.
‘Cause, three simple words
Could change his life.
Three simple words
Could make the darkness light.
Three simple words
Can turn the black to white.
Three simple words
Can help you through the night.
I love you.
So, if you think that you’ve found the one
Go ahead; take a chance; be brave.
And, in the end you may be
Two lives that romance saves.
