After doing some reminiscing with Alex (strobicaxe), I decided it would be fun...for me...probably not you... for me to upload a trip back in time. It's around 1984 - 85 and I had just gotten a new Fender Precision bass guitar. (You'll notice this issue later...)
This combined with a little "spat" with the woman I loved led to the following.
For full effect, you really need to turn up the volume. Stand up. And, follow the directions.
Lyrics and music by Harris Copyright 1985
(As always, just me on the song...so you know the performance will be lacking. For those of you who know how poor my chops are today, just think about how bad they must have been 25+ years ago.)
For those who make it to the end and who are a little older, you'll notice a historical musical reference that you will recognize (not in the lyrics below).
Let's Just Dance
Words spoken in anger.
Thoughtless actions taken in haste.
These cannot kill our love.
Take another chance.
Just believe in romance.
Come on, my love, let’s dance
One more dance.
She said, she said, she said.
Lose your inhibitions;
Let the spirits go.
Dance like you’ve never danced before.
Take another chance.
Just believe in romance.
Come on, my love, let’s dance
One more dance.
She said, she said, she said.
When all is said and done
It was neither either one.
So, come on,
Forget it and dance.
Like water from the moon
Washing over me.
Come on.
Dance.
Forget all that
Let’s dance the night away.
Let’s dance our blues away.
Let’s dance the world away.
Let’s dance.
Just feel the beat.
Go with it.
Just dance.
