About four years ago, my son Derek and I wrote a song called All Alone.   Shortly thereafter, I recorded a version that was kinda a synth/guitar driven song that I was never very happy with..So, I just put it aside and went on to the next one..
Recently, though, I stared listening to the extraordinary songs that TeeCee (Tony Charnock) and Margot (Margot Du Bois) were posting on the Ramp!!  So, I asked myself, Self,  I wonder if we could do anything with All Alone?.I sent Tony the best copy I had, and lo and behold, Brave Heart was born..
The track presented here combines samples from All Alone at the beginning and end with a plethora of new drum loops, synths and new guitar tracks!!  The whole middle section followed the same basic progression that Derek originally put together but was created all new by Tony, Margot and myself .  I cant express how amazed I am at what Tony was able to do with the music, creating something new and wonderful out of something that was certainly less than that..
And Margot, WOW!!  The original song was an instrumental and had no lyrics except the title!!   Margot composed a powerful, smoky lyric and delivered it with her characteristic sultry, killer vocals!!!
Many, many thanks to Tony and Margot.two of the UKs finest!!  And also to Derek for starting the whole ball rolling so long ago..
