This one has quite a history to it (But they all do, each in their own way I guess?.;-)
One of my Ramp friends, Rick Gehrke (Simple Tools) and I had been talking about doing a collaboration for quite awhile but could never get it together for some reason. Then last March, Rick posted song called Primal Television that really piqued my interest. It?s kinda a gentle folk song with a pastoral vibe to it ? very soothing and well done!! The link to his original take on this song is at the bottom of the page here!!
Anyway, I happened to have a almost fully produced song kinda just languishing around from another song that I never finished with yet another Ramp collaborator who had agreed to let me ?recycle? some of the basic tracks if I wanted to?..So I asked Rick if I could kinda re-tool some of his lyrics and see if they would fit into the song structure from this other tune ?. After overloading on really BAD television for inspiration, I came up with the majority of the new lyric to this version and dubbed it ?Primal TV?!!!!
Then there was the matter of finding a singer who could decipher my horribly mangled vocal stylings and turn it into something listenable?..Enter our friend Jamie (songgoddess)!! She liked the lyric (go figure?lol) and agreed to take a shot at it?and of course is STELLAR?.as usual!! Please stick around to the end of this one folks as you don?t want to miss Jamie?s extraordinary coda to this little tune?.
