Last winter I did a song with Jay and Lisa Giampapa (MakeAJoyfulNoise) called ?New Testament Boogie?. We were all very pleased with the ?heavy? sound we were able to come up with, but when we were done I thought I had another (with a slightly different vibe) that might be worth pursuing?.
A couple of months later I sat down and wrote out most of the lyrics to this song pretty much in one sitting (tho I was missing a verse stanza)?.I asked Lisa to help out on the lyric and she had the perfect compliments to what I already had?.I handed my son Derek the lyric and told him what I was feeling was kinda a Pink Floyd thing with maybe a little Dave Matthews thrown in the mix?LOL! He wrote the bulk of the melody on the spot and we did a demo that night?.
I then shared the rough tracks with teecee and gave him the same ?Pink Dave? suggestion (along with my really bad synth parts...) and asked him if he thought he could fix it up?And boy did he ever!! The final piece was Jay?s killer guitar solos and a song was born!!
While certainly not traditional in structure (or length?LOL) it?s one that I think you will find entertaining!! And many, many thanks to my good friends, Jay, Lisa & Tony (and my #1 son Derek) for their patience and talents in putting this one together!! Please enjoy!!
