My profound gratitude goes to Bob Pompei (our own GrumpHarmony) who responded to my request for a "beachy style of music"....and created a perfect melody. I am so pleased with our Songramp collab. and hope you enjoy!
This song was created in late March when we had been promised lovely warm days in the 80s here in Myrtle Beach and what we received was 30-40 mph winds, freezing temps at night which covered my yellow pansies in icicles...and had me indoors by the fireplace when I wanted to be out preparing my garden. I kept thinking:
Will It Ever Be Summer?

V1
These winter winds they blow
Even though they know
Warm breezes are just around the corner
These chilling rains they fall
Locking me inside these walls
Even though that’s not my way at all
Chorus
And now the cold rain is falling on my window
Chilling me to no end
As I lose touch with all my summer dreams and wonder
Will it ever be summer, again?
V2
I’d rather feel a summer breeze
Nudging at my sleeve
On a quiet beach walking in the sand and foam
And if I close my eyes
Bronze beauties hypnotize
By swaying to the music on my radio.
Chorus
But now the cold rain is falling on my window
Chilling me to no end
As I lose touch with all my summer dreams I wonder
Will it ever be summer, again?
Bridge
The fireplace is nice….
the warmth inviting
As I dream of summertime...
Chorus
But now the cold rain is falling on my window
Chilling me to no end
As I lose touch with all my summer dreams I wonder
Will it ever be summer, again?
Yeah will it ever.........ever be summer, again?
