I posted this one on The Ramp about three years ago as an acoustic guitar/vocal cut. I've since given it the full treatment. I guess it could be in several genres: Jazz Vocal, Swing Jazz or Standards. I originally posted it as a Standard but decided to go with Jazz instead...what do you think? I love playing guitar on this kind of stuff! The vocal is just a bit loud, I think...will bring it down a little on the next remix. Ben Burton and I wrote this back in 2006. Hope you might like it. Thanks...Alan
THINK I SEE IT IN YOUR EYES
(c) 2006 Ben Burton/Alan D. David, BMI
I stand before you
My soul is bare
Despite my planning
I'm unprepared
Magic words from you
Would open up my life
I hope there's love
Think I see it in your eyes
As winter's chill
Gives way to springtime
My heart remains
On in-between time
Captured without knowing
If there's a reason why
Yet, I believe there's love
Think I see it in your eyes
How many different ways can I tell you
Something that you must've felt all year
I've thought about this moment... seems like forever
My heart is pounding now that it is here...
And you're so near...
Embrace me now
Share in the pleasure
Explore the joy
Of hidden treasure
It's yours and mine
To have forever
There must be love
Think I see it in your eyes...
I know there's love
I see it in your eyes
I see it in your eyes
