Finding the intitial idea is something we always go through. One day while writing with a client I had worked with a lot of times led to some frustration. She kept bring up titles and ideas that were cliched and had been done a million times. She had this title but couldn't describe what it meant.
While having the TV on, A "Desperate Houswives" commercial came on. At the same time, there was a guy cutting grass in the front yard. I combined the two, with the very flirty personality of my client to show her how to combine things that happen all around you to make songs.
MUDDY BOOTS
MAB/Jan Edwards
I see you out there, working in the yard
Got that deep dark tan, those big tight arms
The July sun is beating down
Don't you need a break right about now
Chorus
A LITTLE SWEAT DON'T BOTHER ME
I KNOW JUST HOW TO BEAT THE HEAT
SO COME ON IN, AND STEP INSIDE
YOU CAN WEAR YOUR MUDDY BOOTS
ACROSS MY FLOORS, ANYTIME
Don't mind me, just had a shower
I always answer the door in a towel
I've got some lemonade freshly spiked
And a few more things that can break the ice
Chorus
Bridge
Don't worry bout getting fired
The grass out back can wait
Depending out on how it all turns out
You might just get a raise
