I wrote this song after my son was born.

I remember a sunny day
not long ago when i heard the doctor say
you're gonna have a little babe
no ifs or buts or maybes
mixed emotions
how should i feel
i know i'm happy
but lets be real
i can't even pay the bills i've got
and having baby's gonna cost alot
am i ready to be somones dad
to be looked up to by some little lad
to be an example for some little boy
to be the one to fix the broken toys

seven pounds of nothing but love

i thank the Lord for all He's done
especially for sending my son

when my baby smiles at me
he makes it all so plain to see
when the bills and rent are past due
the only thing that matters is you

for a great big money tree
if you weren't there to climb it with me

and so i thank the Lord above
for His blessings and gifts of love
