Not had much chance to record anything since about April, as the pressures of getting financially stable took precedence. Although still not financially stable, Ive at least reached a point where Ive got a little free time. Ill need it, coz Ive got stacks of oddments and ideas ready for starting up or finishing off.
This one came about in Ericas garden in April. I wanted a guitar that I could leave at her house, and bought a cheap Chinese built Fender electro-acoustic from a music shop in Coventry - the basics of this song just appeared that afternoon. Finally got a chance to record it properly today.

Hungover feel like I was hit by a car
Last night I was drinking in a basement bar  down there
Pain in my head is making me weak,
But theres another ache coming from my butt cheek  down there,
Drop my pants, take a look and in red, white and blue
Is a newly acquired naked lady tattoo  down there.
Over there she looks so appealing
In a dress that is so revealing  Oh yeah
Bought her a drink, gave her a smile
Said maybe you and I could go the extra mile, somewhere
She looked at me and said Hey Honey,
You dont look like youve got that kind of money  nowhere
Tell me how does a guy like me
Always end up in his own company?
Maybe Im just loosing my touch
Or is this boy just plain out of luck?
Im sitting having a downtown beer
Shes giving eyes that say Come over here Oh yeah
But just as Im making my move
An eight-foot-hulk walks into the room  Oh dear
Pinned me up against the bar room wall
Said Thats my girl, have you still got the balls?  No Sir!
Her legs went from floor to ceiling
And when she moved I got a nice warm feeling  down there
As I watched, I found myself believing
That pretty soon we would be rockin and a-reelin  down there
Then she turned to another girl and sighed
Take me home sugar and love me all night  Oh yeah.
Tell me how does a guy like me
Always end up in his own company?
Maybe Im just loosing my touch
Or is this boy just plain out of luck?
