Ron Gough songs
Your Absence Leaves me cold
Carter/Gough (C) 2006
Back at the begining of this year Deb Carter(Kassanna) and I were discussed a lyric she had written with a view to me writing a melody and producing a completed song.
The lyric is excellent and is from the heart and this really helps from my perspective for things to fall into place.
The song is about 5:30 (top and tailed). We discussed editing it down but both decided it works more as an album type composition.
This brings to mind a quote from another Songramp friend
"It is what it is"
We hope you agree
Deb, Thank you for the lyric. It was a real pleasure to work with you.
Your Absence Leaves Me Cold
Carter/Gough (C) 2006
Lyric: Deborah Carter
Music: Ronnie Gough
Sung & Performed: Ronnie Gough
VS1
look out my window
watch the falling snow
hear the winter wind
howling from below
ice cold wilderness
lies before me here
and all our broken dreams
flash frozen like my tears
chorus
if I could only touch you
if I could only see your smile
then these naked trees that reach out for me
could warm me for awhile
your absense leaves me cold
VS2
chilling memories
cut into my skin
thoughts of you and me
come creeping in again
all these wasted years
have left a bitter pain
and once where blood ran warm
now's frozen in these veins
chorus
if I could only touch you
if I could only see your smile
then these naked trees that reach out for me
could warm me for awhile
Break
chorus
if I could only touch you
if I could only see your smile
