This is a just a little ditty that I wrote and recorded a long time ago and I wanted to share it with everyone, hope you enjoy.
The Widow’s Gift
As Jesus stood outside the Temple
He saw the rich men pay
From their plenty to the treasure
Then boastfully walk away
Then came a poor, poor widowed lady
Two coins was all she had
And as she placed them in as offering
She felt no longer sad
Truly I say to you the widow’s gift was poor
The men had given plenty but she couldn’t have given more
This meek and humble lady
So deprived of worldly things
Had found the blessed gift of glory
Was worth more than anything
God chose the poor of this Old World
If enriched in faith will go
To heir the kingdom which He promised
To those who loved Him so
Truly I say to you the widow’s gift was poor
The men had given plenty but she couldn’t have given more.
