A Broken Man
With tears in his eyes he raised a trembling hand
To show a pale white line for a wedding band
He said he loves her but he can’t trust her anymore
He caught her chasing those pills with alcohol
More and more until she finally ruined it all
Now that ole five o’clock shadow can’t hide the pain
The cloud over him is pouring rain
Losing someone can tear you down like nothing else can
The emotions let go when he’s all alone
As he cries out her name in an empty home
He’s still picking up the pieces he’s a broken man
He’s a broken man
He said he tried everything he knew to do
Until he found all the bills were overdue
And she started to lie, cheat and even steal
He knows his heart is so attached
And he fights the urge to take her back
(Repeat Chorus)
(Bridge)
He watched her kindness turn to stone
And he should be happy that she’s gone
(Repeat Chorus)
