Ann Mayo Muir songs
I have long been a fan of Rusty Blake's music. His work with Beeswing and others has been some of finest music I have heard. Perhaps then you can imagine how lucky I feel that he focused his writing skills to create music for my lyrics. These lyrics have been sitting for a year or more waiting for their moment to spring to life. Rusty swept them up and made them into a song.. With his heart and his great talent he has made them shine. As you will guess, the chorus is only a memory that is still hanging on.
Here is " Gone to Greener Ground"
Music and Vocals played by Rusty Blake
lyrics by Ann Mayo Muir
Harmony on chorus Annie
Gone to greener ground,
It's a miracle to see you there
You'd disappeared into the air
I thought that you had gone to greener ground,
Or just grown tired of havin' me around.
But there you are, have you changed your mind
Or come back for what's left behind.
Your Brown Coat's in the corner of the hall
And your winter hat's beside it on the wall.
Oh Lord; those arms felt so good around me.
Humm Humm I remember them well.
Oh Lord; those arms felt so good around me.
Humm Humm I remember them well.
You raced from here at the speed of light.
You surprised the hell out me that night,
No letter was there to tell me why.
After years together, not one goodbye.
Oh Lord; those arms felt so good around me.
Humm Humm I remember them well.
Oh Lord; those arms felt so good around me.
Humm Humm I remember them well.
I always treated you very well, I know.
Never knew why you had to go,
Leaving a good life like you'd never had before,
Like I made no difference to you anymore.
Oh Lord; your arms felt so good around me.
Humm Humm I remember them well.
Oh Lord; those arms felt so good around me.
Humm Humm I remember them well
You had a knack for words I know.
Today your silence speaks volumes though
No Matter, You've done it all your way.
Go finish your business and I'll get on with my day.
Oh Lord; those arms felt so good around me.
Humm Humm I remember them well.
Oh Lord; your arms felt so good around me.
Humm Humm I remember them well.
