This is another poem turned to song. I've always very much enjoyed George Hanlon's music, and so I was quite pleased when he agreed to work on this one.
The Day Care Blues
Arranged and played by George Hanlon
Music by George Hanlon
Words by Jeff Mondak
Nap time's at the wrong time
Not one toy is mine
There's dirt on my face, sand in my shoes
And you know I've got the day care blues
I'm always getting time outs
Whenever Larry yells and shouts
It's not fair, I've paid my dues
And you know I've got the day care blues
The big kid he always eats my snack
While his little brother climbs my back
I'm left hungry with a big dark bruise
And you know I've got the day care blues
Daddy's here, is it time already?
But I'm still playing with Mike and Freddy
Daddy won't let me enjoy my terrible twos
And now I've got the going home blues
