This is just plain silly.  Based loosely (and loosed basely!) on the classic Rodney Dangerfield film "Easy Money" , the song delicately explores the dynamics of interfaith and interracial unions.  Written long ago- before I had the good sense to make my lyrics staunchly PC- but only recently recorded.  Big thanks to the lovely Mrs. Reilly for adding sublime background harmonies on the choruses!  Also, Robert Johnson and Lightnin' Hopkins stopped by to add a blues intro, but insisted on recording at 78rpm!! Vocals arrive about 1:15......enjoy!

              Julio's Wedding

well, Julio fell in love with a Princess
at the end of a month
they decided to marry
but you just can't mix
the soul food and the blintzes
the reaction of the families was predictably scary

but the paper turned as red
as an Apache Indian
and the invitations went out
through the U.S. mail
one by one.....

they gathered at Our Lady of Mount Carmelitas
and six yentas sat astride
a dozen pretty senoritas
and outside Paco in his firebird
was chasing Mr. Greenblatt in his Audi

so come on down to Julio's Wedding
wear your flimsies and drink a toast to the bride
churchbells ringing
grandma's flinging wedding cake
there's no place to hide

well, Aunt Thelma's at the pipe organ
bruising her knuckles
while the pastor takes confession
from his whiskey bottle
and it looks like Big Daddy's in a scuffle
with the father of the bride

but when the vows were taken
and the tears were shed
they found Uncle Mort under the pew-
he was DEAD!
they had started for the reception
but they held a funeral service instead

so come on down to Julio's wedding
it's all by the grace of Jesus' blessing
those church bells are ringing
and grandpa's undressing
junior by the rosary-
it's an unholy sight

well the corpse was buried
and the wedding was finished
so Julio said-
"Let's get down to business!"
yeah, he drove that princess
straight to the motel six

but the honeymoon wasn't
quite as he expected

had been infected with
a bad case of crabs
that she caught from his brother Felix
