THE LION BECAME THE LAMB
Written by Ron Walls / Vocal by Ron Walls
You left your throne up in heaven stepped down from your majesty
To this world you came to take my blame my sacrifice to be
A lamb without spot or blemish root of David such royalty
Yes you left your throne of glory to become a lamb for me
And as they laid you on the alter god your father had to turn away
For his sinless son had now become sin for the world that day
And Satan thought he was the victor as in the tomb you lay
But with one mighty roar you opened death’s door
And the lion came forth from the grave
CHORUS
Oh the lamb that was slain on Calvary’s tree
The lamb that was worthy to be made sin for me
Is back on his throne the scepter in hand
Oh I’m so thankful the lion became the lamb
John saw an angel proclaiming who’s worthy to open the books
But no one could be found worthy you see nor able to even look
Then a lamb stood in the mist of the elders and approached the royal throne
Took the book from his father he was worthy yes he alone
They fell down before the lamb thou art worthy the new song they sung
For eternal praise with voices raised now had just begun
Then you’ll open the lamb’s book of life as from the throne you reign
As you read my name I will ever proclaim worthy is the lamb that was slain
CHORUS
Oh I’m so thankful the lion became the lamb
