I thought I would post this song with my vocal.  This is one of those songs we write and we're not really sure where it came from.  The only thing I could come up with was I was thinking about the Jackson Five's song ABC and came up with a different twist.  Ron

I don’t remember daddy he died when I was three


Leaving me and momma on our farm in Tennessee


Times were hard but momma prayed Lord supply our every need


And from that worn out rockin chair the bible she would read


She’d tell me stories about Daniel and about the Hebrew three


How Moses led the people out and parted the Red Sea


But of all the things my momma said the most important has to be


The little song my momma sang to me about my ABCs

I grew up and moved away but I’d talk to momma almost everyday


And before we would hang up the last thing she’d always say


What ever you do in this life son I want you to promise me


You can forget all you’ve ever learned but son remember your ABCs


Then one day her neighbor called she said momma had a bad fall


I still remember slowly walking down that old hospital hall


As I bent over her bed and held her close to me


I heard her softly say son don’t ever forget your ABCs


Now momma’s resting up on the hill on that farm in Tennessee


I go talk to her way up there in the shade of that old oak tree


I tell her about my boy and girl and all the things they’ve learned from me


But the most important thing of all momma I taught them their ABCs


Then I’d sing
