This is a gospel song I wrote many moons ago and recorded in South Charleston West Virginia. The fellow playing the guitar in the studio on the recording was Jeff Stevens. Not long after this recording he headed off to Nashville to seek his fame and fortune. Things didn't work out for him as an artist in Nashville but he has made his mark as a songwriter. He hashad many cuts on albums that have come out ofNashville and wrote the song I'm Carrying Your Love With Me. I believe it was the country song of the year and GeorgeStrait recorded it. Jeff and his brother played in a local band around the Charleston area and grew up in Alum Creek.......In this song, I'll Just Call Him Jesus, it tells about Ronnie calling him a lighthouse......Ronnie Hinson is one of my favorite southern gospel songwriters andThe Lighthouse one of my favorite songs. Squire Parsonswrote the song The Broken Rose and that was what I was speaking about in this song. Squire Parsons Jr. was raised in Roane County West Virginia near a little community called Newton. Squire sang in a local quartet and then he went on to sing with the Kingsmen Quartet. He laterwent on to a successful solo career and is still traveling the country singing his gospel songs. He penned the song Beulah Land and it was the southern gospel song of the year a few years ago. I've sang many songs he has written and still sing his songs in church. I just took a lot of names people have use to call Jesus and made a song out of them.There is no other name by which a man can be saved....but the name of Jesus..........RonE In WV
