I wrote this because my dad asked me to write a song for a family reunion.

1. Grandpa told us stories. Said that we come from pioneers
and he showed us the monuments from gernerations past.
in the towns that were built on my family's blood sweat and tears.
     & I know it must've been tough
     & I wonder, would I have been     
     strong enough?

ch. When I get tired I think about the men I came from.
How it's their blood that's running through my viens.
And I ask God to make me just a little more like Grandpa.
And give me what it takes to live up to my family name.

2. Grandpa said the Lord would always love us 
Showed us how to pray
Promised us no matter what mistakes we made 
we could always make it back into the Lord's good grace.
     His faih would never wear down
     when I get weary I still think 
     about that now.

Br. When I get down and feel alone
I think about this legacy 
that I have to carry on.
