Back in February of 09 I had a writing appointment with Marc Alan Barnette. Ramp member Norm Bradley joined us for the write. The first thing out of Marc was "Whatcha Got" . I told Marc about my idea of "Did Your Mama Show You How To Dance Like That" . He smiled and nodded his head as he began typing into his laptop. Then I said "And Does Your Daddy Know You Do" ?? He reared back his head and smiled from ear to ear. I knew he liked it but I had no idea where that idea would take him. Marc is a professional writer that has developed an amazing speed when writing. He kind of closes his eyes and begins directing a video in his head. Within just minutes as Norm and I were passing ideas back and forth, Marc picked up his guitar and sang this first verse and chorus. Norm and the Old Dog both couldn't believe what we just heard. We finished this song and Marc took an idea from Norm in which he almost single handedly wrote a second song that day. This song was recorded at Jay's Studio in Nashville last week.
