This is one of the first two lyrics I wrote. I wrote it and "The American and the Brit" back about eight or ten years ago. I'm pretty sure "Ride" is the very first song I wrote, but I'm not quite sure.

Bobby and Patrick played this one live a couple of times in clubs in Florida, and Bobby has played it since at some songwriter rounds. People seem to view the character as being triumphant and heroic--interestingly, that is not at all what I intended! Also, it's impossible to tell (which, I assure you, is a good thing), but I joined in with the Factory Singers at the end.
