Dallas
Im stuck in Dallas, its cold and theres rain
And the coat that you gave me is torn, weathered and strained.
And the rips are like bullet holes and the edges are gray
And that seems fitting, much like today.
Still I want to see you again
I want to see you again
But youll wave the white flag when Im seeing red
When everything is different than the words you had said.
And the bruises are like tattoos that cover up your heart
Still everyone just tells you theyre fine.
Im sittin in this darkened bar, its crowded but Im alone
I dont have what Im needin- just a 20 and a dying phone.
And the drink that they poured me is as empty as I feel
Cause silence says a lot more by what you wont reveal.
Still I want to see you again
I want to see you again
But youll wave the white flag when Im seeing red
When everything is different than the words you had said.
And the bruises are like tattoos that cover up your heart
Still everyone just tells you theyre fine.
Why walk around with all that clutter in your head
Your passing all the flower shops convinced that love is dead.
Why you buildin a bigger wall?
Always buildin a bigger wall.
Still I want to see you again
I want to see you again
But youll wave the white flag when Im seeing red
When everything is different than the words you had said.
And the bruises are like tattoos that cover up your heart
Still everyone just tells you theyre fine.
All theyre ever gonna tell you is theyre fine.
So all Im ever gonna tell you is Im fine.
