Another original song I wrote and recorded in 2011 on my Boss BR-900. Again, I play all instruments and sing.
The inspiration for this song comes out of the number of funerals I've attended recently. So many people paying their respects for the passing of someone they knew or even deeply loved and appreciated. I thought about all the loving tributes that take place- the songs and theeulogy which is a speech, a celebration of someone's life. And the room is filled with grief, but it's alsofilled with so much love. And then I thought about all the lonely people who may not be so honored with the attendance of so many or maybe those that were there didn't really know the person... or take the time to really notice or help or appreciate the person when they were living and now they're gone... "He wore a string bracelet in 3 shades of blue." Why?
Thanks for listening and please post a comment. Peace :)
Empty Chairs (If that were you)
Starin at hands you thought you knew
He wore a string bracelet in three shades of blue
Now youre tellin stories about a stranger- you
never took the time to know
So sad to go
There were maybe one, two or three in the crowd
and a whole lot of empty chairs
Can you imagine what thatd feel like if that were you?
There were maybe one, two or three in the crowd
and a whole lot of empty chairs
Can you imagine what thatd feel like if that were you?
Behind the wrinkled shirts and faded dreams
lies a bigger heart thats frail at the seams
If you ever bothered to speak up-
you might have healed the pains that they sow
So sad to go
There were maybe one, two or three in the crowd
and a whole lot of empty chairs
Can you imagine what thatd feel like if that were you?
There were maybe one, two or three in the crowd
and a whole lot of empty chairs
Can you imagine what thatd feel like if that were you?
