When things get shakey, it's good to have someone to keep you steady.
Still Believe
I remember that cold winter mornin’ I woke up
You were still fast asleep
Checked the pilot light on the furnace
That old trailer didn’t have much heat
Stepped outside to try to clear my mind
Fresh snow ‘bout up to my knees
Watched the sun come up over the hill
Good mornin’ Christmas eve
I stood there thinkin’ ‘bout the day we met
How you swept me off my feet
We built a home we built a life
Had everything we need
But times had changed I was at minimum wage
And the next day I knew you’d see
There’d be no presents waiting for you
Underneath the Christmas tree
And I wondered were you still proud
You took that walk down the aisle with me
The vow to put each other first for better or for worse
I just had to tell you
I still believe
I went back inside sat on the edge of the bed
Took your hand in mine
I could feel your warmth cut the chill
As you looked up at me and smiled
I said babe if all that we’ve been goin’ through
Has made you stop and wonder why
Made you second guess about sayin’ yes
Or ever made you cry
I just want you to know I’m so proud
You took that walk down the aisle with me
The vow to put each other first for better or for worse
I just had to tell you darlin’
I still believe
That Christmas day turned out to be
The best we ever knew
What little we had we had more than enough
To see us through
Now things have turned the corner
And we don’t have to just make do
But I know I never could have made it
Without you
I just want you to know I’m so proud
You took that walk down the aisle with me
The vow to put each other first for better or for worse
I just have to tell you baby
I still believe
Oh darlin’ more than ever
I still believe
